Method developed the 401-R for the extremes of off-road racing. It keeps the 12-window cast A356 body of the standard 401 but upgrades to a forged 6061 V.2 beadlock ring, which Method says adds strength and reduces deflection. The narrow 15x5 shell is a popular pick among UTV racers.
High-offset versions (+43mm in 4x136 and 4x156, +40mm in 5x4.5) pull the wheel inboard, and a 0mm 4x156 centers it for a wider stance. Every 401-R comes in raw machined with a 1,600 lb rating.
Method 401-R Beadlock (MR401-R) Key Features
- Race-Grade Ring: The forged 6061 V.2 beadlock ring is built for greater strength and less deflection than Method's standard ring.
- High or Zero Offset: Pick +40/+43mm for a tucked fitment or 0mm (2.5+2.5) to push the tire outward.
- Grade 8 Hardware: A zinc-plated beadlock hardware kit is included.
- 12-Window Design: Cast A356-T6 aluminum with debossed METHOD logos and a reinforced inner lip.
Vehicle Application Guide
Always confirm your machine's bolt pattern and hub before ordering.
- 4x136 Bolt Pattern (106mm center bore; 15x5): Method lists this pattern as 4x136; it is the same fitment many brands call 4x137, common on Can-Am (Maverick, Defender), Honda (Talon, Pioneer) and Kawasaki (Teryx) machines.
- 4x156 Bolt Pattern (127mm center bore; 15x5): Common on Polaris (RZR, Ranger, General) and late-model Yamaha machines.
- 5x114.3 Bolt Pattern (72mm center bore; 15x5): Also listed as 5x4.5. Used on the Polaris RZR Pro R and Turbo R.
Important Fitment & Legal Notes
- Off-Road Use Only: Beadlock wheels are intended for off-road use. Off-road-only wheels are illegal on public roads in many states and provinces, so check your state and local laws before you ride.
- Beadlock Maintenance: Torque the beadlock ring bolts to Method's specification when the tire is mounted, then recheck them after the first few rides and after any hard hit. Mounting a beadlock takes longer than a standard wheel, so use a shop experienced with beadlocks if you aren't set up for it.
- Fitment Check: Confirm your machine's bolt pattern and hub bore, and check that the offset and tire size clear your suspension, brakes, and fenders at full lock and full compression before mounting. Lug nuts are sold separately.
- Beadlock Ring & Hardware: Replacement ring part numbers: BR-DB15-2.2-A, BR-DB15-20.2-A; hardware kits: BH-H24100, BH-H24155 (included with the wheel).
- Limited Stock: Some sizes and finishes here have been discontinued by Method. Once our remaining stock sells, they will not be restocked.
- Warranty: Covered by Method Race Wheels' manufacturer warranty.
