Bridgestone Battlecross X31 Moto Tire
Built to excel as an intermediate terrain moto tire!
Introducing the latest addition to the BATTLECROSS X series: the BATTLECROSS X31! Designed for intermediate terrain in larger bike sizes, the X31 builds upon the success of the X30 with the addition of Bunker Groove™ technology. This innovative feature increases traction on both hard and soft terrains by improving casing flex, while also adding biting edges for better grip. To ensure consistent performance throughout your ride, Cooling Fins™ have also been integrated in this high-performance rear tire design to reduce inflation rise from extended run times.
Looking for a smaller intermediate terrain size? Check out the Battlecross X30 moto tire!
Battlecross X31 Features and Benefits
- True Intermediate Performance: Delivers improved traction across a much broader range of terrain.*
- Cooling Fins™ (Rear): Promote consistent traction and feel under continuous use (such as during a moto) by dispersing heat and minimizing inflation pressure gain.
- Bunker Groove™ Technology: Increased casing flex in the tread area improves lug contact for greater traction in harder terrain while helping to maintain sidewall stability. Also provides additional biting edges when lugs are fully embedded in soft terrain.*
- Castle Block™ (Front & Rear): Symmetric front tire design promotes braking stability, while the asymmetric rear design enhances cornering traction by increasing lateral biting edges on soft and slippery surfaces.*
- Tread Depth: 14/32" (Front) and 20/32" (Rear).
Advanced Bridgestone Tire Technologies
Bridgestone continuously pushes the envelope of motorcycle tire engineering. Depending on the specific tire model and application, your tires may benefit from these industry-leading innovations:
- Compound Mastery (NanoPro-Tech & RC Polymer): As a fundamental innovation, NanoPro-Tech allows engineers to finely tune the tire's performance characteristics by managing its structural composition at the molecular level. This works in tandem with RC Polymer, which optimizes how silica is dispersed throughout the rubber, enhancing the tread's ability to flex and maintain road contact across extreme hot and cold temperatures. It also minimizes internal molecular friction, leading to better rolling resistance and fuel efficiency.
- Silica Rich & Silica Rich EX: Bridgestone utilizes specialized front-tire silica formulations to boost wet weather traction, ensure consistent grip, and extend longevity. The EX version, reserved specifically for rear applications, pushes this further by amplifying the silica ratio compared to standard compounds for even greater wet-condition performance.
- Multi-Compound Designs (3LC & 5LC): To perfectly balance straight-line stability with extreme cornering grip, Bridgestone employs multi-layer compound structures. The 3LC (dual compound) and 5LC (triple compound) designs utilize a firmer, stable center rubber section, transitioning to a high-traction shoulder for power delivery, and finally yielding to highly specialized edge rubber for unyielding side grip at maximum lean angles.
- Structural Reinforcement (Cap & Base / 3LC+): The Cap and Base construction reinforces the tread by placing a stiffer, shock-absorbing foundational layer underneath the outer grip compound. The 3LC+ variation applies this specifically to the shoulder, combining an abrasion-resistant base with a high-grip upper section to perfectly blend mileage and performance.
- Mono Spiral Belt (MS-Belt) & HTSPC: MSB construction uses a continuous single strand wrapped around the tire's circumference, completely eliminating overlapping seams and joints. This creates a lighter tire that generates less internal heat and offers exceptional shock absorption. This is paired with HTSPC—flexible, rubber-insulated steel filaments—to ensure the tire maintains a stable, rigid profile under intense forces without sacrificing flex.
- Tread Innovations (Pulse Groove & Ultimateye): Using advanced proprietary simulation technology known as Ultimateye, engineers analyze contact patch dynamics in real-time to reduce slippage and extend tread wear life. Wet weather safety is also drastically improved via Pulse Groove technology, which utilizes pulse-shaped grooves and center deflectors to equalize and accelerate water drainage much faster than traditional straight lines.
- Outside Bead Filler: Bridgestone utilizes finite element method analysis to craft the ideal sidewall profile, utilizing advanced bead fillers to guarantee optimum force distribution and rigidity.
